Las Vegas for non-gamblers, plus coffee, minus pool parties

I went to Vegas twice in 2014. The first time, I was like, "I'm never going back!" The second time, I was like, "Maybe I'll go back." I should preface this with the facts that a.) I don't care to gamble, b.) I no longer care for clubbing and c.) I'm from Miami, where there are clubs and casinos and bright lights/cheesy people plus the ocean.

Now that I said all that, I will also say that Vegas can be pretty fun when you are people watching and in good company. On my first trip, I hid at the MGM's lazy river while my friend(s) turned up at Wet Republic. On my second trip, there was a lot of talk about cocaine, although to my knowledge, no one did any.

This last time, we stopped at Calico--the Disneyland of ghost towns, I guess--on the drive up. It's the only ghost town I've ever been to, so I don't really know yet if others have more to offer, but the Christmas lights on the "old" buildings didn't quite do it for me.

My favorite part of Las Vegas: downtown, also known as Old Vegas. Eat at eat. The grilled cheese and tomato soup are to die for. So is the shrimp and grits. Have a latte at the Beat (side note: I used to want to open a clothing/music store with this name until I learned how difficult having a store of any kind actually is) or at Black Cup Coffee inside Container Park

Highlights: Pretty marble bathrooms at the Palms Place and a bottle of whiskey that made it from LA to Vegas back to LA, unfinished.
Song: Something by Drake I'd never heard before, so anything by Drake would be appropriate, I suppose.
